Ex-Dairycrest, The Droveway, Hove

The site was originally a dairy set on a "Droveway" in the hills to the north of old Brighton where cows would be milked. After the city expanded up to and beyond, the far became a depot for milk deliveries, eventually closing in the lat twenty teens.

The barns are not protected by English Heritage, but do have locally listed status with the council and so care was taken to retain them in a future scheme, negotiations were still ongoing at the time of writing.

The proposal is for 10 no. houses with a large communal courtyard and underground parking with basement access to the houses as well as the main front door off the courtyard. The houses are expected to set a new benchmark in terms of value and amenity for the locale and have already been warmly received by neighbours (unusually) and planners alike.
